Ukraine Benefit Event

with Bozarts Band

This event has passed

Join us to honour and support the people of Ukraine for a special event of folk, spoken word and classical music created by Bozarts Band.

Bozarts Band is a collective of Bristol’s leading musicians and instrumentalists and they will be joined for this uniquely immersive, three-part performance by actress Patrycja Kujawska (Kneehigh Theatre), soprano Katy Garden and special guest, Russian-born pianist with Ukrainian roots Veronika Shoot. Their programme will take you on a journey around our Foyer space to experience music without boundaries and borders; music of happiness, sadness and hope.

Roam the different spaces and levels of the Foyer as you get up close to the performers and journey from the safety and happy security of home, through uncertainty and sadness punctuated with songs of lamentation, before ultimately landing in a place of possible recovery.

This early evening, short performance includes music from different cultures and is open to people of all ages and backgrounds. It is a guided exploration through music and verse which invites you to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and to form your own emotional response to conflict and the displacement of people around the world. The programme will conclude with the audience joining the musicians to sing anthems of hope – Va, pensiero (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Verdi’s Nabucco and the Ukrainian national anthem.

All proceeds from the event and all further funds raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
